Fire Safety Tips
Know two ways out of every room.
Practice your escape route.
Be sure all doors and windows can be opened from the inside.
Get low and go.
Plan a place to meet outside your home, such as a mailbox, tree, or fence.
Call 911 after you leave the building.
Don't stop to get valuables.
Never re-enter a burning building.
Stop, Drop, and Roll
If your clothing catches on fire, follow these simple rules:
Stop where you are
Drop to the ground and cover your face with your hands.
Roll over and over until the flames go out.
Call for help.
Smoke Alarms
Smoke alarms double your chances of surviving a fire in your home by providing early
warning and time for escape. Place smoke alarms immediately outside sleeping areas,
inside of bed rooms in accordance with state code Vol, 3 section R317 of the Residential
code and at the top of open stairways on every level of your home. Test the smoke
alarm once a month and change the batteries twice a year.
